Heather is a project manager and engineer specializing in building science. As a key member of the Existing Buildings team, Heather brings over a decade of experience in design and project management.

Heather organizes and coordinates all aspects of building enclosure repair, renewal, and rehabilitation projects. She also contributes to technical committees within RDH and supports senior technical specialists on litigation and forensic projects.

As an experienced project manager, Heather is continually forming collaborative and effective relationships with clients, contractors, and her colleagues. She utilizes her strong leadership skills as a leader of a diverse group of technical staff.

As a performance-driven and client-focused professional, Joseph is dedicated to employing the principles of building science to improve building enclosures.

He is well-versed in many of the services RDH provides on New Buildings and Existing Buildings projects. He possesses a broad knowledge of industry best practices as prescribed by ASHRAE and ASTM as well as national, state, and local building codes on the performance standards relating to energy efficiency and moisture control.

Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and completed his master’s in architectural engineering with a structural major.

Associate, Passive House Specialist

Monte is among Canada’s most experienced Passive House professionals. He leads a multi-city Passive House team that has consulted on or certified more than 70 projects—totaling 4 million square feet—including homes, offices, affordable mid-rise buildings, and luxury high-rise buildings.

Monte is also a veteran Passive House Trainer who has helped more than 100 professionals earn their Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD) credential. His courses range from a one-day Passive House 101 overview to the multi-day workshop A Pattern Language for Passive House.

Monte was a founding board member and volunteer at the nonprofit organization Passive House Canada, and previously managed his own Passive House consulting firm, which merged with RDH in 2016.

Tiffiny is our Director of Finance and is a Certified Professional Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.

She is responsible for management of the finance department and, alongside her team, oversees day-to-day accounting functions for our offices in both Canada and the United States.

Tiffiny plays a critical role in planning and developing the integration of our enterprise resource planning and business process management systems. Her ability to evaluate and provide insight on significant businesses decisions is an important tool for RDH’s growth.

Associate, Façade Specialist

Rob is a Façade Specialist who provides input on a range of elements related to the design and implementation of façade systems. He is part of our New Buildings team, where he is involved in various façade engineering and procurement projects.

He has gained an in-depth understanding of a variety of glazing technologies. Many manufacturers have utilized his skills to help update their system designs to meet increasing performance requirements and improve the integration with high-performance assemblies.

Rob joined RDH in 1998 and spent a year helping to establish RDH’s presence in Portland when the office opened in 2004.

As a Building Science Engineer working in our Boston office, Lucas is relied upon to provide technical input on a mix of building enclosure systems.

Lucas’s experience involves both New Buildings and Existing Buildings projects, ranging from wood-frame, multifamily residential buildings to multi million-square-foot data centers. He has a strong understanding of building codes and practices on both the West and East Coast of the United States.

Beginning his career with RDH in Portland, Lucas quickly became an important contributor to the region’s business development and operations. He joined the Boston office when it was established in 2017 and has played an important role in our progress in the region.

Alex is a Senior Building Science Specialist and the Regional Manager for our Ontario offices.

Alex has a background in architecture and building science and is typically involved in early project stage consulting for high-performance new construction or retrofits, using an integrated approach to the enclosure, mechanical system, and energy performance design.

In his role as Regional Manager, Alex oversees numerous building science professionals and manages a variety of corporate initiatives. His knowledge of RDH’s broad range of services allows him to support staff as they take on new responsibilities and roles. He has played an important role in the development of personnel across our Energy & Sustainability, New Buildings, and Building Science Laboratories.

Alex is also a Lecturer at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto. He has active research interests in the development of future building enclosure systems and the design of high-performance, low environmental impact buildings. In particular, Alex is interested in the link between architectural design and quality assurance that ensures high building performance.

Stephen is the Maintenance and Planning lead in our Victoria office. His role as a Project Manager primarily involves building enclosure investigation and assessment as well as providing technical assistance for the design and construction methods for Existing Buildings projects.

Stephen organizes building enclosure investigations, assessments, and technical reviews of building enclosure renewal. He works to ensure that materials and design specifications are correctly implemented during construction. He also coordinates performance testing of many building enclosure components and assemblies, including roofs, balconies, and windows.

Stephen first worked at RDH during the summer of 2005 while still a student, following the completion of his Diploma of Architectural & Building Engineering Technology he rejoined the company in 2006.

Christy provides leadership and guidance as the Vancouver Island Regional Manager. She oversees staff in both the Victoria and Courtenay offices, and has contributed to projects all over North America.

Her role as a Senior Project Engineer has her exploring and implementing energy- and water-efficient mechanical systems as well as emphasizing the importance of sustainable buildings. She has completed analyses for a range of energy and water conservation projects and researched innovative system design strategies.

In addition to a broad understanding of strategies to improve a building’s performance, Christy brings strong project management and clear communication to her client relationships. She particularly enjoys helping her clients fully understand the financial, functional, and environmental compromises of a range of design strategies, enabling them to make informed choices.

She has conducted numerous research projects for both government and industry associations, including Cost-Benefit Analysis of Super-Efficient New Buildings, a costing study for BC Hydro.

Jesse is a Project Manager in our Existing Buildings group, specializing in the repair, renewal, and rehabilitation of building enclosures. He also works with building owners to provide maintenance and planning services.

Working throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Jesse has developed the ability to successfully manage all phases of a project while keeping the owners updated and informed. His aptitude for professionally managing the warranty review process is recognized by RDH as well as the industry.

A British Columbia Institute of Technology Honours Graduate, Jesse was also the recipient of the BC Building Envelope Council Foundation Achievement Award in Building Science.

Winnie is a CPA-CA and has over 10 years of finance experience in both industry and public practice.

Since Winnie joined RDH in 2014, her role has evolved and expanded to her current position as Corporate Controller. She is responsible for leading the administration of payroll, benefits, insurance, and tax planning. She also helps manage RDH’s Shareholder Program and day-to-day finance operations for our offices in both Canada and the United States.

Ariel’s experience ranges geographically from the East to the West Coasts and includes buildings of all types.He manages a number of building enclosure consulting and remedial repair projects and leads many building enclosure design reviews and investigations.

In addition to his role as a Senior Building Science Specialist, Ariel is the Chief Operating Officer of RDH and participates in the overall direction and management of the firm.

Prior to his current position in the Portland office, Ariel spent several years practicing in Boston and Los Angeles. He is a registered Professional Engineer in six states, including Oregon, Washington, California, Alaska, Montana, and Georgia.
