RDH is providing building enclosure consulting and mass timber moisture risk management services through design and construction. During design, our team reviewed the enclosure systems for water penetration, air leakage, thermal continuity, and vapour diffusion, along with prefabricated façade component submittals and shop drawings. RDH also advised on material selection, constructability, enclosure detailing, and interfaces between prefabricated components.
RDH conducts factory reviews at Intelligent City’s manufacturing facility to observe fabrication and quality control of the panelized enclosure system before components arrive on site. Our team conducts field reviews during construction to assess installation. RDH also conducted site water penetration testing of the enclosure assemblies in accordance with ASTM E1105. Technical support includes responses to RFIs and review of non-standard details as conditions arise.
For the mass timber structure, RDH developed a moisture management plan addressing protection during factory production, shipping, site storage, and installation. Our team provides quality assurance moisture monitoring during construction and documents observations and recommendations to inform protection measures.
The enclosure incorporates continuous air and water control layers, with airtightness and thermal detailing developed to support the project’s operational performance objectives. The project is targeting Toronto Green Standard Version 4 Tier 2 and reduced operational and embodied carbon emissions.
