As part of the FortisBC Deep Energy Retrofit Pilot Program, Forte was selected for a comprehensive retrofit to improve energy performance, comfort, and long-term durability.
The scope includes new high-performance windows & improved detailing (triple glazed fibreglass), in-suite HRVs for ventilation, solar domestic hot water pre-heat, and a gas heat pump system for heating and domestic hot water. Insulated “A/C ready” ports were added to enable tenants to use portable air conditioners without compromising the performance of the enclosure.
RDH was the prime consultant for analysis, design and construction, and also provided construction management services, coordinating with the owner and trades to deliver a technically complex retrofit in an occupied building. RDH is also monitoring and evaluating the indoor environmental quality before and after the retrofit.
