With 40% of the province’s population living in rural communities and regularly travelling for outpatient services, the facility addresses a long-standing gap in accessible healthcare infrastructure. Led by EllisDon, the project encompasses design, build, financing, and 30 years of maintenance, resulting in a 3-storey, 134,000-sf facility providing primary care services and clinics.
RDH provided building enclosure consulting from Design Development through Construction Administration, contributing thought partnership and technical collaboration at every stage. Delivering a climate-responsive, durable, and comfortable facility required continuous decision-making at the intersection of design and energy performance. Throughout Construction Administration, RDH oversaw assembly installation, facilitated field reviews, and conducted on-site air and water testing. RDH also worked alongside the Building Commissioning agent to verify that enclosure components met the project’s environmental performance and operational criteria.
