RDH provided full-service enclosure consulting, beginning with a Building Enclosure Condition Assessment (BECA), followed by detailed enclosure design, construction document development, and full construction-phase services. RDH also served as the Owner’s Agent throughout the project.
The retrofit scope included targeted upgrades to wall, roof, and foundation assemblies; improved insulation and air sealing; attic ventilation; and improved bulk water management and a climate resistant cladding system. Future-proof detailing was integrated to facilitate replacement of enclosure components as they reach the end of their service life. All upgrades were completed while the building remained occupied, minimizing disruption to residents and avoiding tenant displacement.
The project was completed successfully, on time and under budget. It significantly extended the useful service life of the building, improved durability and energy performance, and ensured the continued comfort and security of residents for decades to come.
