As a central element of Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus, the Plaza, originally designed by architect Arthur Erickson, serves as a vital connection point between the Academic Quadrangle and the rest of the university. RDH was engaged by Public Architecture to provide building enclosure consulting for the renewal of the Plaza's roofing and waterproofing systems.

The project was delivered in two phases. Phase One focused on the Academic Quadrangle, where RDH provided schematic and design development services for the roof enclosure, advising on assembly options and water management strategies to extend service life. Field review during construction confirmed alignment with design intent. Phase Two expanded the scope to include the Convocation Centre, Fountain Square, and the Transportation Centre. RDH also supported roof renewals at West Mall, the Education Building, and Hamilton Hall, providing a comprehensive enclosure renewal across the core of the campus.
