Paul Kernan | Architect AIBC

Paul leads our Existing Buildings practice area and is responsible for developing the strategic approach, establishing consistent standards, and identifying new services for the Existing Buildings group.

Along with his operational responsibilities, Paul has specialized in building enclosure design and rehabilitation for over 20 years. He is a registered architect with experience in North America and Europe.

Paul is an advocate for a client-first approach and ensures that his team is effectively communicating and addressing building owners’ concerns. He has experience working on a variety of building types and collaborating with various ownership groups.

Prior to joining RDH in 1998, Paul was the Building Envelope Specialist at the City of Vancouver, responsible for developing and implementing many of the city’s technical initiatives regarding building envelopes. While at the city, Paul assisted in the development of a building envelope education program for architects and designers and administered the city’s envelope specialist certification program.
