The Resilient Homes Task Force (RHTF) is a collaborative initiative between the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA). The task force brings together researchers, builders, and industry professionals to develop evidence-based guidance for improving the resilience of new homes, renovations, and homeowner maintenance practices across Canada.
RDH contributed to authorship, technical review, and graphic development across all four hazard categories: basement flooding, hail, high wind, and wildfire.
About the Guidelines
The guidelines are tiered to support incremental adoption by the home building, renovation, and insurance industries. They are organized to support constructability, risk reduction, and industry education for Part 9 buildings under the National Building Code of Canada.
