As a performance-driven and client-focused professional, Joseph is dedicated to employing the principles of building science to improve building enclosures.

He is well-versed in many of the services RDH provides on New Buildings and Existing Buildings projects. He possesses a broad knowledge of industry best practices as prescribed by ASHRAE and ASTM as well as national, state, and local building codes on the performance standards relating to energy efficiency and moisture control.

Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and completed his master’s in architectural engineering with a structural major.

Alexander (Sasha) Itsekson | SE, LEED AP

Principal, Façade Structural Specialist

Sasha is a Façade Structural Specialist with 30 years of experience working on a wide range of structural systems and building facades. He has provided his expertise on a number of high-profile projects in the San Francisco Bay Area, including the Oakland Cathedral and Sutter Hospital.

Sasha is often called upon to review the structural design of complex glazing systems and to provide structural evaluations and assessments of buildings. He also conducts forensic investigations of structural failures and designs solutions for building repairs.

Sasha uses an in-depth understanding of how seismic activity affects the structural integrity of buildings to provide earthquake risk analysis and seismic retrofits to existing buildings. He is a recognized Safety Assessment Program (SAP) Evaluator for the State of California Office of Emergency Services and is designated to perform rapid assessments of building safety in the wake of an emergency.

As well as being a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), Sasha is a qualified Structural Engineer (SE) in 20 states throughout the U.S., including California, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada.

Colin is a Professional Engineer in the United States and Canada and provides operational and project leadership in the San Francisco Bay Area office.

Colin has a broad knowledge of building construction and applies building science principles to analyze and design durable, energy-efficient building enclosures. He shares his experience by regularly speaking about topics related to building enclosures at events across the United States and contributes to industry organizations with the aim of making buildings better.

Colin began his career with RDH in Vancouver before transferring to the San Francisco Bay Area and now plays a key role as part of the leadership team for our California operations.

Erin Andes | MS, PE, LEED® AP

Associate, Senior Project Manager

Erin is a Professional Engineer who specializes in building enclosure consulting on new construction and rehabilitation projects. She collaborates with developers, building owners, architects, and contractors to achieve durable, watertight, and energy-efficient building enclosures.

Erin uses her breadth of experience in building science, structural engineering, and construction administration to effectively communicate technical content to non-technical audiences. She has presented many of her published works at conferences across North America.

In addition to her work on new construction and rehab projects, Erin has provided investigation and litigation support services on dozens of projects throughout the western US. By investigating project failures, she acquires a great perspective on what to avoid in new construction and building repairs.

Erin holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a member of the US Green Building Council and Association of Preservation Technology.

As a Building Science Consultant, Megan Cross-Wilkinson is experienced in design development, preparation of construction documents, construction field review and contract administration for both rehabilitation and new construction projects. Her project experience ranges geographically from California to Eastern and Western Canada.

Megan has 5 years of work experience in the building science industry in both existing buildings and new construction. Some of her previous projects include significant wall, glazing, roof, balcony and below-grade rehabilitation and new construction for residential, commercial, and institutional owners. Megan has performed numerous building enclosure assessments, and several forensic and litigation investigations. She has worked on construction projects in a variety of geographical locations in California, British Columbia, and Ontario.

In addition to her experience at RDH, Megan previously worked for a start-up engineering consulting firm in North Vancouver, BC, where she gained experience carrying out engineering consulting, contract administration and project management on large building renewals.

Megan first joined RDH Vancouver office in 2012 as a co-op student during her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo. She joined the RDH San Francisco office full time in 2016.
