At Building Science Labs, we often discuss spray foam, and every time we do, more questions come up. People are worried about failures. Spray foam is actually harder to mess up than you may think, but as with any material, failures in design, installation, and operation do happen. This presentation will help you avoid issues that we see in our investigations in the field. Using forensic case studies from low-sloped roofs to swimming pool enclosures, we will provide examples of what not to do for enclosures with both open-cell and closed-cell spray foam. You will come away with a stronger understanding of how spray foam works and how to design with it successfully.
