Building codes, standards, and voluntary regulations have been changing – perhaps more quickly than at almost any time in history – to improve the resource efficiency and durability of buildings. This recorded presentation examines these changes and their impact on architectural design. Case studies and related research are used to explain how new code requirements are addressing issues such as thermal bridging and whole-building airtightness – and how meeting these requirements will change the look of modern buildings.
