The Seattle Housing Authority engaged RDH to provide building enclosure consulting for a comprehensive rehabilitation of the occupied building, with GGLO serving as design architect. The project was designed to extend the property’s service life while improving comfort, durability, and accessibility for residents throughout.
The rehabilitation included a complete strip and re-cladding of the building exterior with continuous exterior insulation added to improve thermal performance. New siding and finishes were installed throughout, and all windows were replaced to improve energy efficiency and interior comfort. Deck coatings and exterior paint were also renewed. The project further incorporated a new elevator, meaningfully improving accessibility for residents.
